Dealer 1561 is on the second floor at King Richard's and dealer Brenda Clavelo has a mix of mid-Century and modern home decor as well as pieces from the 1800s which include a dentist's cabinet and a dental chair. She calls her booth the Eclectic Cabin.
The mid-Century and modern home decor include two sets of lucite grapes, there are lamps from the 1960s, and there are old telephones -- with real dials. The telephones are desk top pieces from the 1960s. "We used to collect for fun for my own collection," and that led to her booth at King Richard's. Brenda also refinishes furniture and these will be added to her booth soon.
You must see the "dental articulator" which is a display piece for vintage dental pieces. Vintage dental is becoming its own speciality and not just for dentists. "Dental Vintage" is becoming very big on the Internet. And if that's not creepy enough for you, creepy and spooky looking dolls are also becoming trendy and you'll find these here as well.
Soon to arrive is clothing from the 60s and western styled boots. The disco style is also going to be incorporated into this shop. The clothing will be true women's vintage with accessories including leather purses and belts from the 60s and early 70s. And of course condition counts so they're careful about pieces being in good condition. "It's stuff I would wear," says Brenda. Other clothing pieces include floral patterns and vintage colors from the period. "I really look for the old tags that shows it's true vintage."
There is also artwork including mid-Century pieces and western images and oil on canvas pieces.
From the late 1700s to the 1800s there are wooden pieces and furniture pieces. There are some benches and handmade tables made from reclaimed wood.
