Look at These Old Pictures we Obtained from the Whittier Museum Depicting the Building When It
Was A Furniture and Lamp Store in the 60's (left) and
A Citrus Packing House in the Early 1900's
We'll Soon Be Posting Our Historic Building Time Line
****************************
Thanks to Bob, we now know what citrus labels were used on
orange crates leaving the (King Richard's) building back in 1917.
The
King Richard's Antique Center was started 30 years ago (1979) by
Richard Bowlin and Jim Slevcove. Richard must have won the card game
since his name became famous...King Richards.
Before their antique center partnership, the site was used for another
purpose. Around the turn of the century (1903), the site was used for
citrus packing. The building is a historical building and is on the Local Register of Historic Resources (Citrus Assoc. Packing House)
